28% of Hills Road students taking Geology in 2017 achieved an A*, with an impressive 79% achieving A*- B grades at A level this summer.
Julia Thomson, Head of Geography and Geology at Hills Road said “Many of our students from Geology take the subject further by going on to study Geological Science and Earth Science degrees.”
“One of our students, Fay Amstutz, achieved the third highest mark nationally for A level Geology and achieved 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Geology and Extended Project.”
“Fay starts a degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford this Autumn - we wish her and all her fellow students every success!”
OCR's subject officer, Chae Cruickshank commented by email on Fay’s success, “I feel sure that her achievement reflects the quality of geology teaching at Hills Road Sixth Form College.”
